On June 1, 1987, two weeks after successfully completing a four-year work-study programme and graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (honors), Mr. Danieto Murray joined the work force at Northern Caribbean University (formerly) West Indies College as a junior accountant in the business office.
Over these many years Mr. Murray has served in many capacities to include Accounting Supervisor, Chief Accountant, Treasurer (nine years), Vice President for Finance & Industries (16 years), Director for Development & Community Partnerships, and Director, Alumni Relations, Advancement & Development, a position he currently holds.
The decade of the nineties can be said to be one of the most challenging in the history of Jamaica, yet Northern Caribbean University experienced significant improvements in critical financial ratios. This is due to a large extent to Mr. Murray’s financial astuteness. In recognition of his outstanding performance, he received the President’s Annual Award in November 1998. He has subsequently been recognized and awarded over ten different times for outstanding contributions to the University.
As chief financial officer of NCU, Mr. Murray piloted the financial ship for approximately 16 years moving it from significant negative working capital and liquidity to acceptable policy levels prior to the global meltdown and the resulting loss of over 1800 students. During his tenure, he managed the acquisitions of several properties to include North Campus; the property that houses the Eastern Regional Campus; Parchment Property which houses workers and the Counselling Centre, a four-acre property in Newport, and the 1200-acre property in Goshen, St. Elizabeth.

Mr. Murray is a trained welder who holds certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). He also finds time to engage in stress alleviating activities such as farming, badminton, and dominoes.
Mr. Murray is Married to Natalie and the union has produced Danieto Antonio and Deighton Alex.
